VCCI LEADERSHIP MEETS SENIOR RAILWAY OFFICIALS

The leadership team of the Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), comprising President Mr. M. Sudarsan Swamy, Secretary Mr. Wuppala Sridhar, and Executive Committee Member Mr. Vidur Kedia, had a meeting on Friday, 23 October 2026, with the top brass of South Coast Railway (SCoR) Mr. Sandeep Mathur, General Manager and Mr. BSK Rajkumar Principal Chief Engineer.

The discussions focused on the potential benefits to the region from establishment of the SCoR Zone at Visakhapatnam and key upcoming projects. A few developments include railway track capacity enhancement, a Vande Bharat maintenance facility, expansion of Visakhapatnam Railway Station platforms from 8 to 14 and regularisation of special trains amongst others. The officials have vouched that significant opportunities for startups, local MSMEs as well as corporates would be generated over the next two to three years.

The General Manager has agreed to VCCI President's request to address the Chamber members on a mutual convenient date.
