GST 2.0 & WAY FORWARD NEXT – GENERATION GST REFORMS
The Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) successfully organized an insightful session titled "Navigating GST 2.0 – Changes, Challenges, and the Way Forward" on 26th September 2025 at the VCCI Conference Hall. The event witnessed active participation from over 60 members representing a wide cross-section of the industry, including manufacturing, trading, services, and exports.
The keynote address and vote of thanks were delivered by Mr. P. Rajesh, Secretary, VCCI, who emphasized the transformative potential of GST 2.0 in reshaping India’s indirect tax landscape. He highlighted key concerns such as compliance burdens, digital infrastructure readiness, and increased supply chain accountability.
Two distinguished experts were invited to share their insights. CA Ashish, a seasoned GST specialist, provided a detailed overview of the technical changes introduced under GST 2.0. His presentation covered automation in input tax credit (ITC), real-time invoice matching, and the increasing role of AI and data analytics in audit mechanisms. CA Anil Bezawada, a GST expert and advocate with experience across multiple courts, focused on real-world challenges faced by businesses. He addressed issues such as system preparedness, reconciliation difficulties, and litigation risks during the transition phase.
An engaging interactive session followed, where participants posed thoughtful questions and discussed practical challenges in implementing GST 2.0. The dialogue covered key concerns such as technological adaptation for MSMEs, clarity in compliance protocols, and the need for regular training.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. P. Rajesh extended heartfelt thanks to the guest speakers and attendees. He reaffirmed VCCI’s commitment to serving as a bridge between the business community and policymakers, ensuring that such reforms are implemented in a manner that balances tax integrity with ease of doing business.
